The world has too much noise

The world has too much noise

Let me know if you agree....

there are a few types of 'noise'....

'noise' from the media which is constant a lot of the time very repetitive

'noise' from irritating annoying arrogant people around us who only care about themselves

'noise' from government police officers parking inspectors and others

'noise' from the thoughts that keep turning over and over in our heads

@jamesle2015 Hey Jamesie2015 :). The media is a constant noise for me. I just dont watch tv at all except for a few fav crime shows on the abc. The noise inside my head has been dulled because of the meds that I am on BUT occasionaly I do hear something and I have this fear that beneath the surface they are there waiting to come out again to cause havoc. Government authorities like the police are a huge trigger for me which I have to avoid if at all possible. Annoying arrogant people dont worry me so much because of the meds that I am on ..... kinds of dulls my reaction to aggression etc.

Hiya

I definitely agree with media noise, I find I can spend hours a day listening to the news, watching the news and it definitely gets repetitive and probably isn't so healthy to do it. To try and block out some of the noise I have reduced the news apps on my phone to just the ABC which has helped a bit.

Isolating at home at the moment, but acknowledge there's noisy annoying self interested folks out there - leader of the free world as a case in point! I've come to the position that I find people are inherently self interested by nature and that's OK and doesn't prevent people from helping others as well.

I have had a bit of a thing with authority police etc. noise as well, especially when I've been riled up or acutely unwell. I reckon it's best to just keep out of their way and let them do their job - focus on the quiet life and this way they don't bother me.

There's definitely the thoughts turning over in my head too, more often when I'm alone and not doing anything - my mind wanders back onto past mistakes and problems. I try and acknowledge these thoughts and try and get them to move on as I've had a tendency to ruminate on problems in the past and it's not good for me. Distractions work best for me and focusing on things such as cooking or cleaning.
