Something’s not right

Slowly feels that she's losing the fight

Slowly feels that she's losing the fight

1 step forward 3 steps back.
Wishing that all emotions would just give me a break.
That horrid feeling of someone had just shot your dog when things in life go wrong.
Even the little things seem so crushing and constant. What the hell is one to do now when he or she can't bothered picking himself/ herself up anymore. I'm tired of feeling helpless and alone in my corner.. How does one get out of this rutt?
I want to be happy and confident I've lost my way.

Re: Slowly feels that she's losing the fight

Hello @Louisajean,

Welcome to the forums. Sorry you feel like this, it sound overwhelming for you at the moment.

I've been through similar times where everything cuts to the core so easily, opens you up like lancing a boil where it seems a lifetime's worth of suppressed pain wants to surface at once. If you let it out, the collateral damage is potentially unimaginable, but the energy to keep it in, or down, becomes exhausting. It sits right under the surface like a bruise that hurts at the slightest bump. Does that sound familiar.

I hope you can find expression here and maybe with a face to face counsellor in the near future.

Please tell us more about your circumstances. There are plenty of compassionate people here, give them time to find you 🍁

Re: Slowly feels that she's losing the fight

Thank you for your reply Tawney,
Yes there's so many warm hearts on this forum and everything you had just explained is right on the money. I'm afraid I can't go too in depth with what I'm going through as I do find it really hard to express how I'm feeling at times.. Although I do very much believe I may have suffered some sort of a break down last night resulting in me being completely bed ridden today.
I'm anxious to the thought of leaving the room/house tomorrow too. Yikes I don't even know what I'm fearing at the moment.

Re: Slowly feels that she's losing the fight

Just rest tonight, breathe

Tomorrow is a new day, go see the Dr & talk.
Ring lifeline anytime 24/7 too: 131114. It takes the edge off to talk about things, if you get a bad person, hang up & try again. I like to journal too.

I Need to get some sleep now. Hope you can get some sleep tonight, if not, find the 'night shift' thread, there's usually someone awake there.

Be gentle with yourself tonight 😥😴

Thanks for the heads-up @Former-Member

I hope you have a good rest tonight 🌸

Hi @Louisajean

I'm glad you found us here on the forum. When there is a lot bottled up inside, the best place to start is just to talk to someone, about anything at all. It's the human connection, a nc you have done that.

Pleased to meet you ! I'm Faith-and-Hope.

Re: Slowly feels that she's losing the fight

Hi @Louisajean,
I've been where you are a lot. I know how desperate and alone you feel but there is always hope. I was feeling so lost tonight and came on here to chat and take my mind off things and it really helps me. I second what @Former-Member said. For now the best thing is to find a distraction or maybe talk to lifeline. They have saved me heaps over the years. Wishing you all the best 😊💜

Re: Slowly feels that she's losing the fight

I need to get some sleep now too @Louisajean and @Former-Member, but I will tag @Louisajean in on Night Shift before I do.

@Louisajean, I hope you call Lifeline if you are feeling really down, but otherwise, follow along for a while on Night Shift for the company and distraction. There are some lovely people there, and others come and go a bit during the night too. You don't have to mention your situation or feelings if you don't want to ..... entirely up to you.

I will look for you again tomorrow, Stay safe tonight ...... 🌷💜🌷

Re: Slowly feels that she's losing the fight

Dear hope and faith,
I'm still kicking not much has really improved.. So I'm seeing my doctor today..
I'm so scared! The thought of being on medication for possibly the rest of my life.. 😞went off my medication 2yrs ago because my doctor and my self thought I was ready. The medication was there to treat OCD and depression.

I just want to let you all know while I'm here how much I appreciate all your warm kind support 🌤 And putting up with my whining it can't be easy xox

Re: Slowly feels that she's losing the fight

Whine away @Louisajean 😊

We all do ....... it's sharing our troubles, and it's anonymous, so hopefully you will feel that you are amongst people who not only hear you, but understand very well what you are going through. I think you will find that what you are experiencing is very common amongst us here.

My daughter (D3) developed Hypothyroidism quite unexpectedly around two years ago now. She is in her mid-20's, and it means she is now on medication for life .......... you see, it's not always about mental health, but it does involve mental health.

I have a girlfriend with Fibromyalgia. The constant pain and injury requires antidepressant medication. Generally that is a rule of thumb - where there is long-term pain there is also depression. I believe they are linked in the wiring of our body chemistry.

I hope that makes you feel a bit better about being on medication. Gosh ! If we knew how many people are functioning on cholesterol and blood-pressure medication we would probably be quite shocked as well.

It is all supportive of a more balanced way of life, and sometimes medications is short-term, as it was for you before. Try to just breathe easy, and be upfront with the doctor. Once you are feeling better, you will be in a better frame of mind to think about other things.
