Something’s not right

mind blanks ???

mind blanks ???

I don't know how to title this.

I have work to do. It's easy, I've done it for decades.

But !!! Mind goes blank, I just want to do...actually, I don't know what I want to do. I'd like to have it all finished, but, can't concentrate on the work.

The frustration either gets me angry, tired, depressed (teary, not often) ....or just makes me feel like walking away from it all...(which I can't do).

Any comments?

I don't know what to say, @BlueBells, except to count down from 10 and breathe deeply just to attempt to stablize yourself first of all.
I experience this too, but I just ride it out instead of trying to fix it. I don't know what will work, I'm sorry.

Best of luck, and warm huggles...

Hi @Snuchu 🙂

( I remembere the @ symbol 😉 )

Pretty much where I am, too. I'm watching heaps of TV, don't know if much goes in, but I find better to distract my brain instead of walking the house like a caged lion 😞

Thanks 😉

Hugs back 🙂 🙂 🙂

Re: mind blanks ???

As I try to push through it, my breathing and heart rate increase a bit, I sometimes feel like on edge, kinda shaky/flighty , almost excited.....

Is this just stress/anxiety kicking me?........maybe?

I've tried to switch off and relax, that can work, but I'm getting behind to the point I must push through, and I seem to have lost ability to find the balance between go and stop 😞

Hi @BlueBells, have some hugs from me

Can I ask what kind of work are you doing? Sometimes it can help to move to a different workspace. It's like a fresh start where you haven't built up any feelings or reactions to your project. This works for me and writing tasks but I'm not sure if it's possible with what you're doing.

I'm a procastinator for tasks I'm not keen on and so I read your post with that lens. When we procrastinate there is often a build up of stress and anxiety, guilt and anger directed at yourself. I could be way off here though.

Hi Suzanne 🙂

Just part time secretary, but .....there is the but 😞

Family business, we're separated, I need a break, I can't have a break ...

That's a simple nutshell. Yes, I'm a procrastinator too. 🙂

I'm learning lots over the past few years, and a lot of my procrastinating is fear of getting it wrong. Hard to break a lifetime issue, though 🙂

I work from home, so I stay clear of workplace, and has good and bad points. Has helped heaps to overcome the oppression from the ex, though.

I'm feeling like that at the moment.. just cant settle to do paperwork/sitting down work. and when i do try to do it, i feel like i have no idea what/how to do it and just give up. hence so far behind...

hope that it gets easier for you soon

Re: mind blanks ???

It sounds like your work is bound up with some painful experiences @BlueBells. That would certainly get me procrastinating. Can you break in waaaay down into little do-able pieces? We're always told to do the hardest part first but in this instance an easy win would be better.

Realising that your self-worth isn't defined by getting it right helps, too but, as you say, that's a hard habit to break.

If it was possible I'd be taking a laptop to a local cafe and working there. That's more what I meant about moving workspaces. Or maybe even the library where you can spread out a little. It can be great being around people, with access to coffee and books, rather than stuck at home and feeling increasingly agitated.

Hope tomorrow is a better day
