Feeling like crap

Feeling like crap

I'm back again, feeling like crap.
I can't believe I'm here again, I just don't know what to do. I wish my life would end and it would be something different.
I just feel like such a failure, I AM a failure.
I'm scared to tell my doctor I'm not feeling well.
Sorry for the whinge, I just need to let it out....

Re: Feeling like crap

@Former-Member,

So sorry to hear you're feeling like that? Are there people around you who can support you? It sounds like you're in a headspace where you're struggling to see the good in yourself and in life. Have things happened lately that have triggered that?

Lifeline: 13 11 14 or Crisis Chat
Suicide call back service: 1300 659 467 or online counselling
Mensline 1300 789 978 <if relevant>
If in immediate danger: 000

If you are feeling suicidal, it’s really important to call one of the numbers above. You don’t deserve to go through this alone.

I've just seen the other thread, I hope you've managed to get some sleep after that sleeping pill Bec, it sounds like you've been through the ringer emotionally tonight.

Hi @Former-Member,

I just wanted to touch base to see how you are? Things seemed tough a few days ago. I hope things are ok.

Re: Feeling like crap

Hi Cherry Bomb,

Things have gone from bad to worse to be honest. I just wish I could craw into a hole and die right now.

Despite me being a complete failure and my life imploding in around me, my parents are being supportive. They're very disappointed, but at least they're not angry.

I don't think my confidence could slip any lower at this point. I lost my job last month, after trying as hard as I could, my scrambled brain couldn't cope. How can I have any hope for the future if I can't manage to work? How do I get another job? What job am I even capable of doing?

I just feel like such a failure.

Re: Feeling like crap

Oh @Former-Member, so sorry to hear you are in the wars. Life can be so bloody unforgiving of us at times. I know the feeling. I had to stop working because of my scrambled egg brains - although I tried again and again - I kept getting up and getting part time or full time jobs and every one of them came unravelled because of my mind and physical issues. I haven't worked now since 2014. It took a long time to come to terms with that. But I have accepted it now.

So glad to hear your folks are supportive (if dissapointed) and that you have them on your side.

Have you recently had any counselling or assistance fom a psychologist? I have always found Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) useful when I am struggling with a particualar life challenge, to help me get a grip on better thinking about particular issues (like being unable to work or feeling liek leaving the planet). You may be elligible for a mental health care plan (10 free sessions on medicare if you are in Australia). Your GP does a short assessment and can then refer you - you can find your own Psychologist who might be a good fit, take that name to the Doctors.

Stay with us and let us know what else is going on for you. I tend to come here to the forums even when I am travelling okay just to keep a sense of continuity, i don't see 'coming back' as a failure, rather as a success in staying connected.

All the best @Bec - What is one thing you can do today that you could look forward to and would be good for your spirits?

Re: Feeling like crap

Thanks @MoonGal.

I've almost run out of psych sessions for the year - 10 is no where near enough!

It sounds pathetic, but I'm going to ask my doc for an extension on a uni assignment, cause my brain works much slower these days. That will alleviate some of my stress at least.

And I think I should go for a walk, I don't want to, but I think I should. 🙂

Re: Feeling like crap

Sounds like a good plan.
Walk helps me too.

Extension on Uni assignment will take some pressure off while you are going through a really rough patch, all good thinking.

Walking, stay in the moment, step, step, breathe breathe, listen to the sounds, birds, cars, etc. Get out of ruminating mind and into the moment if you can.

Re: Feeling like crap

Hi @Former-Member,

I'm sorry to hear things are so tough for you right now!

Please don't feel scared to share with your doctor that you are not feeling well - helping you through tough times is what they are there for

I agree with you about 10 sessions per year not being enough! That's where drawing on support from others alongside engaging in treatment can be so helpful. I'd echo @MoonGal's sentiment that staying connected to others is a strength.

Getting an extension sounds like a great idea to lower your stress levels while all this is going on, good move!

Good on you going for a walk

Keep looking after yourself,

Shimmer

Still not feeling great. How's everyone else going out there?

Re: Feeling like crap

Hi @Former-Member
Sorry to hear you're not feeling great. If you want some company overnight, it's best to jump into the Nightshift thread (in 'Enjoying time with others' 🙂
There's usually someone to say hi to in there.

I hope you're doing okay! Please be sure to take care of yourself and contact a crisis service if things escalate.
