I don't understand

I don't understand

I dont get it why do i feel so weird all the time. i am being more productive i am struggling but mostly managing uni and i am not on meds so that part of things is better but i still feel like i am about to explode constantly i feel like i can feel everything and i dont mean like i am feeling a lot i mean literally everything like every tiny little thing i can FEEL. tables. chairs, computers, trees, flowers, grass, people, people on tv, music, the air, animals, water, smells, light, and it isnt like i feel them on my skin i feel them in my brain and in my body but inside like how i feel my organs. and the space in between my organs i feel that too. i feel like everything is constantly shouting at me screaming at me. when someone is crying on tv i feel an ache inside me like as if i am also crying and i get weird flashes of images go around in my mind like i am there with them. not on fake shows so much but in documentaries and like everytime i touch something i get flashes of things in my mind like of where it has been and who has touched it and this other weird feeling but it isnt from here like it is far away but i cant explain it properly. i just dont know how to process all of this.

Re: I don't understand

@Eden1919 Hi Eden1919 what you are experiencing sounds like one hell of a ride. I miss these special occurances .... dulled by medication I no longer have anything magical happen only the occasional nasty voice raises its head. You are obviously very high functioning to be able to study at uni with all these sensations happening and being able to not let all of it explode in your mind. I couldn't do that.

I would definately mention it to my psychiatrist (or maybe not as she would put me on more medications lol ....) you obviously have a very understanding psychiatrist. I would enjoy it and not get stressed by it as it is special to be able to have these sensations and yet still be able to walk around and do things like 'normal' people do. Love greenpea xxx

Re: I don't understand

hi @Eden1919 it sounds like you central nervous system is in overdrive all the time. Maybe you need something to calm it down, maybe medication, maybe the other methods like meditation and yoga. I find medication is the only thing that works for me. It sounds like you need to get this down to a more manageable level so you can socialise.

I remember you were looking forward to meeting new people & making friends at uni, how is that going? Are there any nice people you've met who you'd like to be friends with?

Re: I don't understand

Hello,

I just wanted to say that i find it hard to process information too @Eden1919 and i have a few things i can share. I thought the information on dailailama website was pretty good 'training the mind'. This lead me to reading a book on destructive emotions which is useful for me maybe not for you. There might be more useful books on the website if you think it might help. Other than that i listen to 'music to quieten the mind' which is like therapy and helps me overcome my thoughts.

Thanks for posting 🙂

@Bunniekins @Everan @BryanaCamp thanks all.

@Bunniekins sad lol at your psychiatrist being like that although i have had my fair share of those types i am trying to just go with the flow but i may be moving into an even harder class because i asked about it which is going to mean a lot more study which is ok but also i wonder if i should be getting myself into this although it would be a fun class and i do really want to do it still i have a week to decide. also i may have written a long email to a minister about a community issue...... still they probably wont even read it so what the heck. i also havent been going to sleep until 4-5 sometimes 6-7am but oh well i am not tired and i feel no need to go to sleep anyway and it takes me ages to fall asleep. but thankfully some of the physical energy is dulled because i have been walking all over campus and not really eating much or drinking but most of the time i just forget to drink. also i feel very powerful but also not at the same time it is weird but i have so much i want to do and i am so impatient lol oh well and even if i wanted to tell my psychiatrist they are in another state lolololol i feel very like pressured but also it is cool cause i can kind of be doing like 5 things at once in a way. anyway this is getting long lol and you shouldnt have to read that much.

@BryanaCamp meds are a big nope for me they suck and i would rather no longer exist than take them again. as to the friends thing i have made a few friends the people in my classes seem to be nice which is good.

@Everan i have actually been doing some meditation although it gives me more energy so idk whats up with that but oh well its fine.

i feel weird over all though like sometimes i get these super intense waves of complete despair but then they go away and get replaced with magical feelings so who knows whats going on. certainly not me lol.

Re: I don't understand

Hello, I'm so glad to hear that your waves of despair are able to melt away and be replaced by magical feelings...that's great.

I just wanted to flag in relation to your comment to @BryanaCamp, medication impacts people in different ways – sometimes in positive and negative ways. While medication may have difficult side effects, stopping them straight away can be very problematic and cause significant side effects. It's good to check in with your health care professional before making any decisions about your medication. It might be helpful to keep notes of side effects and any issues you may have experienced from the medication so that you can present them back to your doctor. Each person's experience with medication is different and sometimes it is a question of finding the right medication and dosage.

Re: I don't understand

@Bunniekins lol thanks.

@Former-Member ok firstly i didnt say anything about meds in relation to any one else i was only talking about me secondly i have been off meds for almost a year now so no sudden stopping for me and my psych is very well aware and finally the "right medication for me" is no medication i have tried over 25 different meds in different combos and all were a load of trout so its a firm no for me on that issue. others are free to do as they please unless they are unfrotunantly under the mental health act then they are not free at all..... still i can assure i have not nor am i just "going off my meds".

Re: I don't understand

way to go @Eden1919 that's tremendous you've already made some new friends! well done, I'm really pleased for you that there are some nice people in your classes.

I hope you can find some other ways to relax, maybe yoga and so on or mindfulness could be helpful? maybe there could be some low cost classes at uni? everyone is different - I tried so many different things and therapists and spent so much money and went through so much MI suffering before I found what worked for me. I hope it is easier for you

I hope you're enjoying uni at least some of the time & that your studies are interesting, it's wonderful that you've taken on such a big challenge.

Re: I don't understand

@BryanaCamp thanks it is really hard to find something that works for me i think it is more just truly accepting that nothing works and trying to find ways to work around it. still i am glad you found what works for you. i will look around to see if there are any activity groups on campus.
