Depression

Depression

I have suffered anxiety and panic attacks for 2 years since my mum and her partner moved closer to us. Just recently they had a big falling out with my sister n law and brother on my 30th birthday. I told off my mums partner for being so rude with his words and now is not the time., it’s put me in a sever depression and I have distance myself from my mother and her partner was not nice to me.

Since I have blocked mum out of my life for abit and removed her awful partner out of my life. I have been severely low, I’m having breathing issues due to my reflux and my anxiety makes it worse. I am still on holiday and don’t go back to work to next week but I can’t seem to get out of my bed. And I am going through the time where I’m realising I’m bi... so all this going on is very hard.. I’m non stop crying and with the breathing issues are hard. I’m going to go get a back massage tomorrow to try help. Any tips??

Re: Depression

hi @Flower88
It sounds like your going through alot at the moment. firstly despite it causing your mental health to deteroirate, well done for standing up for someone and pulling the other person up for being so rude.

Do you have some supports offline that you would be able to talk to? Friends, other family, your gp and/or psychologist? It sounds like you could use some extra support for both your mental and your physical health.
Are you having a hard time accepting that your Bi? i have and still continue to go through it so am happy to help if thats something thats concerning you.

@Queenie may be able to offer some advice as well.

Re: Depression

Well done on blocking your mum - or more importantly her boyfriend @Flower88. Sometimes the best self care we can give ourselves, is to remove ourselves from toxic people.

Re: Depression

Hey there @Flower88, self acceptance with depression thrown into the mix is a tough gig, especially when you come out as a member of the LGBTIQPA community. I commend you in removing toxic people from your life. I realise now how toxic some people can become and although at the time I thought I would literally not be able to live without them. I'm finding my life is much more stable without them in my life. It is a scary thing identifying as anything as heterosexual, even in a nation which offers same sex marriage. My family are not cool with me being gay, I no longer have contact with many of them due to their choices. You need to be who you are, otherwise this niggling something-is-not-right feeling will tear you apart from within. It took a psych nurse to tell me to get my act together come out of the closet ten years ago, for me to realise my true self.

Never be ashamed to be you!
