Help

So my housemate has a friend she is worried about so has invited her over.

Last week or so I have had trouble keeping my self positive and failing to distract my self from destructive ideation have sh 2 days ago. I have told no one I am struggling.

This friend has been here 20 mins and the whole has talked about Si attempts of the last week and her sh.

I don't know how to be supportive when struggling in a similar way but I don't want to feel rude by staying in my room

Re: Help

It can be a moment when being authentic about your situation and yourself, can help break barriers and silence, but also it would be important to get help irl for YOU and to encourage her to do so. It is best if it is not just 3 friends dealing with it alone.

You can let her know that you heard, your struggling and go back to your privacy, or help turn it around into social activity that will bring positive memories and a sense of connection. That it is both real and you and she are not alone.

Re: Help

I get what you are saying @Appleblossom and thanks for the advice but I don't think I want people to know I am struggling right now I couldn't even tell my psych on Friday

Re: Help

That totally makes sense. @Former-Member

Self care first.

I often speak from my history, where a lot of peers ended up suiciding.

I could not articulate some of that stuff til last few years.
