Re: What’s your coping strategy

Hi there,

Is it with depression and feeling lost?

I think alot of us on here get that from time to time in varying degrees so you're definitely not alone.

Are you in treatment? There are some useful techniques and bits of information i've gained through therapy but like anything they take time to stick during which we need to learn to be kind to ourselves.

Regardless of what method we're trying to use to bring ourselves up overtime, i personally believe fostering a kind attitude toward ourselves will be a part of it.

For me, when I'm beating myself up over things or really down on how things are going for me at any given time, I allow myself to wallow a bit. It can be a fine line for some between doing this and getting swallowed up by it all, but I think we're often too quick to simply try and 'talk ourselves out' of being down and that by telling ourselves we shouldn't be so messed up or down we're kind of re-inforcing the downward spiral.

They say we should be kind to others, but IMO it's even more important for us to be kind to ourselves first.
