OCD Anxiety Depression Helpful Information

OCD Anxiety Depression Helpful Information

Hello to anybody out there who suffers from any OCD Anxiety and depression. I wanted to tell a bit of a story about myself in the hopes it can help somebody. If you want you can tell me some of your thoughts and compulsions and we can talk about it. If you want to know more about my story you just need to ask. I have had OCD now for 13 years with intrusive thoughts, anxiety and depression. The intrusive thoughts range from violent thoughts to sexual thoughts and paranoia. Just a few examples for anyone having the same thoughts, they can range from hurting loved ones to changing into somebody else completely. If you have any thoughts like these let me tell you it is OK. The thoughts do not control you and you can overcome them. Thinking about the thoughts rationally and looking at past evidence has helped me with many of these. I have spent nights switching light switches on and off in order to change a thought and taken hours to walk up a flight of stairs in order to change a thought. If you have experienced this or are experiencing this, just know you can overcome it but it is really hard work and it hurts, and is probably one of the most difficult things you will ever do. Just know you are not the only one and there are people that can help you. Never give up fighting and seek help. Just remember medication can only glue your mind together it is not a cure. It takes hard work and therapy which I am still busy with. It is a fight you can never stop. But I Believe it is a fight you can win. So to anyone who finds this and even if it helps just one person I say keep going and never give up.

Thank you for your time,

Take care

Ryan

Hi Ryan

I commend you for being brave. You are definitely going in the right direction and I am truly happy that you have found your own way to deal with OCD and anxiety.
I also suffer from anxiety and depression. I have struggled with this for many years and gone through a lot of counseling... I am a work in progress and will be for years to come.
Knowing that I am not alone in my struggle gives me strength to keep moving forward.
Thanks 🙏
