Freaking out

Freaking out

I'm totally freaking out right now. I got sent home from work the other day to the hospital where I learnt from them that their only job is to make me comfortable and they won't diagnose me with anything.

I then took charge and contacted a specialist who got me in on a cancellation. He ordered scans and blood tests before squeezing me into get the results on Tuesday.

I am absolutely freaking out as the blood tests are checking cancer marker levels and whilst I'm confident I don't have cancer I'm freaking myself out because I dont have answers and l can't guarantee I can to my apt to get my results Tuesday

has anyone been in similar situation and how did u get through it

Re: Freaking out

Hey @Jessten not too long ago I had a large swelling in my neck (a lymph node) which was not caused by a virus or bacterial infection. I had a scan which showed an enlarged node which was whitish in colour on ultrasound. I was told by the sonographer to "prepare myself". This was on a Friday afternoon of a long weekend. I also had a myriad of blood tests including tumour markers and would receive the results Tuesday morning.

I stressed myself out to the point I made myself mentally unwell. Tuesday morning arrived and I was told I had lymphadenoma, a benign tumour of the lymph node. I had worried about nothing. The lump, while smaller now, is still there. I spent the whole weekend worrying about the big C, that I was sick with anxiety and my schiz was beginning to act up. Turned out just fine and I needn't have made myself sick with worry.

I hope your results don't turn up the worst possible scenario and show something that is relatively easy to treat and that you feel much better soon.

Hi @Queenie @Shaz51

Thank you for your support. I haven't been diagnosed with anything as yet and am just freaking myself out. I don't believe Will have cancer but am freaking out as no test so far has detected what I have. I know the tests Will be fine but I'm not mentally coping with pain that's interfering with my life on daily basis

Re: Freaking out

Chronic pain is an awful big thing to have to live with @Jessten. I watch my Mrs go through it each day. Luckily for her she has a pain management specialist whom she sees regularly. She has also been tested for the big C and thankfully all tests were negative.

I do hope you have some answers soon. x

Re: Freaking out

Hi @outlander every thing came back normal which is great in one way however this is now causing more anxiety as I've Been referred to a specialist in another town next week and as I don't drive out of town I'm stressing out. I know it may give answers but I'm scared I'll go through all of this and nothing still will b detected.
