New to NEAMI

Hi

I am new to NEAMI and just stumbled across this organisation by chance. I have struggled with mental health for the best part of 35+ years and made a serious suicide attempt 5 years ago.

It has been a long & hard road back and, for the past 2 years, I have been trying to survive in mainstream work, within my career...... wins & losses. I am desperately seeking a support group so that I can talk to others who understand and don't feel the need to 'fix' me or the problem.

I feel I have exhausted the psychology path and don't seem to be able to push through the major barrier that interferes with my ability to fully function normally.

Currently I am finding it hard to sustain regular work for more than 8-12 weeks and find myself in an agitated state most of the time. I am often withdrawn and, lately, hae started wishing I wasn't on this earth to have to bear the difficulty of living, again. Don't worry! I am not at risk but I just want to be peaceful and feel relaxed/happy; instead of anxious & uptight.

Hi there @Broken2. Welcome to the SANE forums. I am glad that you feel you are on the road back and I hope that you will enjoy being a part of the supportive community here. I am sure that plenty of other members will identify with your difficulties trying to simultaneously manage your mental health and work. Again, welcome

Thanks Eucalypt

I am reaching out here because I am in desperate need of a support group; is there something I can access at NEAMI?

What group chat should I join? I am completely lost with what & where to go 😞
