religious mania or hyper reliogisity

religious mania or hyper reliogisity

Hi everyone

I was wondering if anyone suffered from 'religious mania'. When I am very manic I get hyper religiosity. I doesnt matter what religion. It doesnt help that my back ground with religion has been scattered and torn and sad ...

Just hoping that I am not alone here as it is very disturbing and disruptive to my everyday life.

Some do and some don't.Try to keep it together as best you can and write it down ,so that when you get over the mania you can chew over what your thoughts were .Keep it and bring it out when you think you are going manic again, read it and try to avoid what you did last time.We all learn by our mistakes. Just try to avoid making the same mistake twice.

Both my parents had religious manias, @Bunniekins although neither would have ever admitted that. Somehow I have managed to de escalate their intensity and keep my religious aspects to more interests than obssessions or manias. Like you I am not restricted to just one.

Re: religious mania or hyper reliogisity

Its funny and unfunny too. @Bunniekins has taken me a very long time to untangle the religious aspects, in particular. Painfully long. If you admit there are possibilities of mania attached to the religiousity ... I myself look at my "attachments" cause I did a bit of that kind of theory early in life ... and look at a lot of my behaviour tendencies through those lenses.

Re: religious mania or hyper reliogisity

@Appleblossom Yes funny and unfunny just about sums it up for me too lol 🙂 I have always been lost because of the way I have been brought up with religion and since my diagnosis the symptoms of mania that come through my religiosity. I am just lucky I live here not somewhere else where I could get myself into all kinds of trouble with it.

Some of the things I remember that I did whilst in religious mania, which isn't much ... OMG! I am very lucky.

Re: religious mania or hyper reliogisity

what sort of things happen with 'religious mania' episodes?

sometimes it can be hard to tell in certain situations - if any of you have witnessed charismatic Christians

gathering there can be some extreme activities there
