Small town, Big tragedy.

Small town, Big tragedy.

Hi there.

My little town has been famous for several things, the pump of a wave, the sweet aftertaste in the wine. Now we are focused on for mass destruction of life.

I didn't know the family, but rubbed shoulders with the Grandmother many times. Several people I know knew them directly, and I am trying to support as best I can.

The media are everywhere, pointing out that something awful has happened when all you want to think about is about buying milk or something equally as unimportant.

Last night I knew it was what it was, that there was no threat to others - but still I checked the locks more times than normal, and felt vulnerable. Everywhere people are saying the person who did it must have mental illness, and I don't know what to say.

This has no direct reason to effect me, but it has. A violent, volatile past catching up with me maybe.

Sending you all every thought of safety in the world.

@Whim- I know that area of WA very well, although not the people. Another larger town nearby is where I have a lot of connections, and that area of WA was my childhood playground. I am so sorry for the enormity of this tragedy, and how it might affect you and the community from this point on. I am glad at the moment many details are being surpressed in the media, and I hope it continues that way. It is bad enough as it is without making it more so. Please take care of yourself in the days and weeks to come.
