Travelling with my stepmom

Dad’s planning for a family vacation next month, that means travelling with my stepmom. For the past weeks since she transferred at our home I can say she’s fine, trying to be the best wife for my dad. She’s actually from China, my dad met her at a new years party dating service in Shenzhen last year. They’ve been dating for months and decided to get married, the rest is history. Well, to be honest, I’m still not comfortable with her, part of me wants to accept her but for some reasons I just can’t! Now, I’ll be spending my vacation with her, what should I act for the whole duration of our travel? I need help guys!

hi @bellagirl19 and welcome to the forums

id say just be yourself. stay polite and respectful but its ok not to like everyone. you might find yourself liking her through the duration of the holiday. if you need to take abreak from them sometimes by going for walks outside the hotel can be helpful in just taking a breather.

Welcome to the forums, thank you for sharing some of your concerns about an upcoming trip with your Dad and Step Mom that you have only just started forming a relationship with. It is understandable that you still do not feel comfortable with her, it seems like you have not known her that long and it can be really difficult trying to let in new parents to your life, it is a big change.

Try to firstly enjoy your holiday and take in new sights and experiences, I like what @outlander said about being yourself and maybe spending some time alone when you can if you are finding things a bit hard. Try to be open to the trip and spending time with them both and maybe focus on how happy your Dad is and that is a good thing.
