Gut feeling

Gut feeling

I have a gut feeling my sister has a terminal illness.

Shes been unwell the last six months. But the last two week has been confined to bed.

She has been undergoing tests this last week. One - ecg showed she has had a heart attack at some stage. She thinks it was eighteen months ago. But that doesnt sound right to me. Today she had an ultrasound of her liver as tests showed some abnormality. No result yet. I doubt very much she will ring me with the results, and i am going away tommorow for the easter weekend.

I told her i will call her when i get back, but to ring me if theres any change in her condition. I know i cant do anything but i want to know what is wrong with her. She never goes to the drs. So i know she is really sick. Theres only the two if us left. And now i fear loosing her. I thought i wasnt really conected. I didnt feel connected untill today. Now i am realising how much she means to me. It doesnt bare thinking about really. Its another situation that i feel so helpless in.

Re: Gut feeling

What a terrible feeling that must be @Chris. I remember when my brother was diagnosed with a terminal illness I was shocked more than anything.

I hope that your sister will be okay (and yourself too). I hope your Easter break away goes well.

Re: Gut feeling

@Chris. You must be feeling pretty scared about all her tests.
Why not talk to her honestly when you get home. Tell her what you've said here. That you're scared it could be terminal. That you cherish your relationship with her and how youddon't want to live without her.
I'm sure she will be touched by your words. And would maybe more likely to open up to you about what is happening.
I had scans done on my brain, due to a consistent headache after a bump to my head. The scan showed that I'd had a stroke a year or so earlier. And no permanent problems.
Here's hoping your sisters tests will show nothing serious and that she just needs a rest.
Try and enjoy your easter break
