That sounds a bit scary, perhaps you could get it checked out by a GP, or keep an eye out things to see how it is all feeling today. Is it still feeling tense?

I have had a lot of shoulder pain - so I really get it - it sounds as if the pain is not likely to have the same cause as mine with was full thickness tears in a muscle called the supraspinatus which runs along the top of our shoulders
But after having had two operations on one of them I sometimes get pain down the top of my arm from the shoulder - and pain from torn tendons is excrutiating and something to see your doctor about
However - seeing as this is a long weekend and the possibilty that a heart attack can cause pain in the left arm if the pain gets severe or you get it in the chest as well and/or have trouble breathing then you need to get to the ED -
Otherwise - see your doctor next week - it's always better to get medical advice if unsure

I would have this checked out by your GP asap. I have had a tight painful chest and shortness of breath from anxiety attacks but not the type of pain you described. I hope you are okay x
