Has anyone experienced both OCD and depression together?

Has anyone experienced both OCD and depression together?

Some of the people in my IOP group have reported to dealing with both of these together, and the more I research the topic, the more it seems like they really can stem from one another. In my personal experience, a lot of the depressive type feelings can flow into the OCD type thinking, if that makes sense. Here's some of the stuff I thought was interesting on this topic. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4610610/, https://blog.treatmyocd.com/https-blog-treatmyocd-com-depression-and-ocd-be59ce8430fe, https://psychcentral.com/lib/ocd-and-depression/

Hi @Jen1561, yes I have both, my OCD has been around for a long time. I will look up your links you’ve posted later so thanks. Yes, depressive feelings can flow in to OCD as you say, but I think depressive feelings are a natural result from living with OCD, as it’s so tiring checking, counting etc. I have seen a Psychiatrist & been prescribed medication which has helped relieve the symptoms for me, plus therapy. I am so glad there is so much help out there, like here, this site. Nice to meet you. Have a happy new year. Kind regards, @1stepup61
