Re: Christmas
Hey @Former-Member, I've seen you floating around, but we've not really spoken.
Today's a bit crap?
I was all alone a few times on NYE and I felt all alone and totally crap too.
I got a bunch of dvd's, pizza and some ice cream and totally blocked out the whole world waiting for the day to pass.
Are you able to turn on a bunch of movies or do something to block the world out?

Re: Christmas
I'm not sure of your back story, so I don't know about your family, I'm sorry.
But it's super hard to be away from those you love on days like today.
Can you give them a call? Is that a possibility?
Is there someone else you can call, a friend. Even pop over to visit?

Re: Christmas
Hi @Former-Member, @Former-Member, it's been an okay day here but stinking hot. Just me, my companion and a friend around the corner. We had roast lamb sandwiches on white bread and pavlova. Not a super cheery day because my friend is 9 days from homelessness (couchsurfing) because she hasn't been accepted to the rental places she's applied for. I usually feel much better on boxing day cos xmas is over then. Hope the same for you, Jay.

Re: Christmas
Hi @Former-Member
I have usually wanted the same thing: my family, and that was the thing I could not have, nor could I bring them back. It has taken me a long time to accept and calm myself down from the longing for connection with them. Instead of the self harm can you try things that you fully love doing but that do not harm anyone yourself especially. Whether it is jog at the beach, or shoot some basketball.
Like @Former-Member I have had a few christmases locked in with good food and movies. When I emerged I felt stronger inside like I was not going to let the world win simply because I spent Christmas alone. Now I honestly can cope with it and make my own plans, SELF PROTECTION the first priority.
I know you are the oldest, but
Take care of you too mate.

Re: Christmas
HI @Former-Member I also find it hard not having that family connection on Christmas, its just me and my two kidlets today. Like appleblossom i have spent a lot of time yearning for more connection, and in truth, i think its something that we need...which is why it hurts so much...but its just not there at the moment. Your siblings are growing up, I hope that once they are old enough to make choices for themselves that you will all be able to see each other at Christmas again and create those family connections again..
I hope that things get easier over the next few days as its all over and done with again.... thank goodness.

Re: Christmas
I get bro @Former-Member Some of us really do not have the same opportunities or choices and I know you have already been managing a s***ty hand of cards for a while.
I had to go to gaol to visit one of my family members today.
We pigged out on Lindt balls sweet potato chips and sars.
But if you have not been able to do that THEN BUILD A CASTLE.
Protect you
dont harm you
its not a level playground and
its not your fault
cos this is also a b**ch of a time.
You deserve an inner castle where you are cherished and king.
