I am sure I am not Robinson Crusoe here but is there a possibility to have one thread which is not as heavily moderated as the other threads ... certain rules would have to apply like no victimisation of another forum member etc but other rules concerning certain content could be more lax ... I don't know ...
Is that possible? and how could it be implemented safely? Just a thought.

All content is moderated so it is safe for the forum - that is for both members and non-members. As it is a public forum - there are strict guidelines that need to be adhered to in order to keep it a safe environment for all.
Although I understand what you are saying @Bunniekins - the reality here is that what one person/member may find okay to be shared another may find it offensive, triggering or inappropriate. The reality is that we cannot know or foresee how content will affect someone else - and everyone has their own triggers etc.
So in that respect - it is essential to have community guidelines that everyone is aware of and which has as their first priority the safety of ALL readers (members and non-members).
Therefore I would be of the belief that a thread that was not as carefully moderated as others runs the risk of being 'unsafe' as every individual has their own (and very wide) views of what content is safe and unsafe.
