Feeling Alone.

Feeling Alone.

Hey all, I'm new on here and looking for others who suffer with this condition and feel the way i do on a daily basis.

Today and like most other days, i feel extremely alone and worthless. My words mean nothing when i speak, i have no friends or family and beginning to start having crazy throughts again.
My life is like a cycle and can not get out no matter what i do. I have 4 professional support places and trying to distract myself from my head can be extremely hard at times, especially when i don't achieve.
No one around me understands BPD and why I am at times.
I'm scared of what I can do.

Re: Feeling Alone.

Hi @OpalCalendula,

Welcome to Forum Land. I have BPD and I have no friends or family either. My entire support network aside from my GP and psychologist live here in Forum Land.

I am a 40 year old woman who was diagnosed with BPD when I was 19 years old. I have had a LOT of muddles since then such that now my brain is pretty much one big muddle.

There are quite a few people here in Forum Land with BPD. Actually, I should just check, when you say "BPD" do you mean Borderline Personality Disorder, because that's what I'm meaning. Sometimes people end up talking at cross-purposes around here because BPD can mean bipolar disorder to some people.

Some of us are just starting out on an adventure doing Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) here in Forum Land and you would be super welcome to join us if you want to. Let's do Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.

I'm guessing that if you have taken a wander around Forum Land, you will have seen there are threads about all sorts of things. You are super welcome to just jump on in anywhere. This is a particularly social thread: Good morning. Don't let the title fool you, there seem to be people chatting there all day long.

I'm not sure if you know, but to "tag" someone so that they are notified if you respond to them, you need to put the @ symbol in front of their name.

I have to go and do some things in the real world now, but I am super glad to "meet" you and I hope to see you around here in Forum Land. You are not alone here @OpalCalendula.

Hi @OpalCalendula,

A big warm welcome to the forum! We are really happy to have you on board as a new member I can hear that you have been feeling really overwhelmed, isolated and misunderstood. That sounds like some really tough feelings to be sitting with and I'm sorry to hear you're struggling so much.

I'll just let you know a bit more about the forum so that you know all about your options for support with us here. The forum is moderated by people like myself and it is run out of the Help Centre here at SANE Australia.

Apart from the forum, we all have a helpline that is open between 10am- 10pm Monday to Friday. It is staffed by counsellors who are trained in complex mental health issues. You are more than welcome to call us at the Help Centre on 1800 187 263 for further support. We also have online chat here at the Help Centre that you can access through the website if you prefer chatting online instead.

I hope that you find the forums helpful and supportive- please feel free to get in touch with us at the Help Centre as well as you need to.

Re: Feeling Alone.

Hi @OpalCalendula. Welcome to the forums. I have been diagnosed with BPD too, and I can totally relate to feeling completely alone and worthless. I’ve found there are lots of wonderful people here who really ‘get it’.

I’m not sure if you’ve seen it yet, but we recently had a Topic Tuesday about BPD that was really interesting. If you want to check it out, you'll find it here: Topic Tuesday - Living with BPD.

I look forward to seeing you around the forums. 🌷

I often feel alone and isolated. no family and few friends other than here! I hope that by being here you feel connected and supported. Take care of you, i hope to see you around the forums soon again 🙂
