celebrating a member

I dont think this should be a feature.

I have read the comment that was noted by the person of the username and to be honest

there were a few comments that were 'responsive' and 'supportive'. I would go as far

to say 2 comments were written to express they had 'been' in the situation, which is hard

for many to say.

If it remains a 'feature' I think it should be directed to 'information' a person contributes

eg. articles, titles of books, links to sites, health information etc

Dont get me wrong. I'm not moaning because a person was celebrated. I just thought that there are many comments on this forum where contributors are empathetic, informative and sincere.

Perhaps a feature where there are 2 icons with warm symbols or warm smiles or something

that people can click to show what they think if they don't want to comment. The 'Like' icon is kind

of ambiguous. It might not be cost effective with website fee's and all but just a thought.

A icon for - validation, courage, support, hearing you...Oh I dunno the list is endless but if it is feasible and cost effective 'throw it out' into public space to gauge response.

I've not been here long so perhaps there may be a day allotted to 'celebrate' the work of moderators, community guides that we see on the forum. Commods day (silly pun there if you know the word) tho may not be appropriate because of what the real word means...its a silly wordy word is all. Where contributors can acknowledge the good work they do.

Re: celebrating a member

Hi @Neelix

We appreciate your feedback here.

The celebrating a member segment is there to encourage members at different times and let them know we are grateful for their ongoing supportive responses. This encouragement is not there to disregard others in any way.

We acknowledge members of the community in a variety of ways - one being the celebration section, others for example, are through 'Likes', responding to members directly in the discussion thread, dropping them an email and for those who have been long term supportive members, they are brought on to be Community Guides.

We hope this clarifies things for you.

Hi @Former-Member
I know the feature is not there to disregard other contributors.
I just think the 'feature' is exclusive and not inclusive.
Like I said there are many many commets from contributors who are consistent with their online support as well.

It's cool if you have it...*hands up* just saying is all

Also other contributors have not commented so that tells me they want the feature too which is all good.

Cheers or the reply Lauz
