Life

Hi everyone

Hope everyone's well. I am concerned that I don't spend enough time with people! During the week I am mostly by myself. As I am not working, I am making efforts to Find a job, it's pretty exhausting trying to everyday and push myself when I feel alone. I will volunteer this Friday at an op ahop so I'm hoping that will be a good thing. Asi reduce medicine I am finding more and more that I have to find myself again know myself , as I have been under this cloak of ' mental Illness' stories. Sometimes I am more hard on myslef when living at home, but it doesn't bother me as much when I live independently, there is an option for a flat to rent and I am wondering whether that will infact change much. I still need to do more activities, and meet people. I have been holding out for the warmer weather to go paddle boarding and ocean swimming. My social circle is v small and limited What else can one do to be with people? Have looked at meetup sometimes in the day there is a need to do more hope alls well 🙂

Re: Life

I literally think about what other people are thinking when I go about my day, ever since being at home and leaving study I have lost my sense of self and have Been very focused on my family. My doctor said I need to stop focusing on what others are thinking and address my own needs! And to find myself. I find it very hard when I go out I am very aware of what other people are doing, that when all my actions are carried out I change what I'm doing in response to other people (really it probably comes from living with my mum, when we interact it's like she almost wants me to keep an eye on her and attention on her) instead of normal healthy boundaries where you do your own thing.

Hi @Mountbeauty - Welcome tothe forums 🙂
A lot of people (myself included) often talk about the loneliness that we feel! I do work, and am around people every day but still often feel this huge gaping chasm of isolation. It's really hard.
I'm not very good on having hobbies and interests that involve other people either! I have two kids who keep me busy as well which doesnt leave much time i suppose!
I think that its great that you are starting volunteering at hte op shop on Friday! I really hope that that helps.
Here on the forums there are a huge range of different threads from social chit chat, light hearted threads to more 'serious' threads where people are sharing more specific concerns/topics. Feel free to join in anywhere at all, you will be most welcome!
I hope that you find the forums helpful!
