Prolonged phycosis from a treament resistant phycotic illness

Prolonged phycosis from a treament resistant phycotic illness

Ive just come out of a 10 or 15 year phycosis, my mind was highjacked by a grandiose delusion, which made me supperior at my trade, but to be supperior i need to work to exaughstion everyday, any time out of work was absolute emotional agony.

I also had severe unregulated mood which i beleive was because of the phycosis, things eventually turned into a medical emergency, my organs were at risk of failure due to over working, not eating, and lack of sleep.

My wife seperated me and moved out with the kids. At this time i was strongly involved with the mental health team, but was due to unregulated mood, i was unaware of my phycosis and delusions, the team stableised me with a mood stableiser, my wife triggered a comunity wrap around and got an ivo on me, every month i would end up at court from breaching the order, i beleived i was above the law, they used this keep me in touch with the mental health team.

They used this to create real life scenarios for exposure therapy. They took control of my buisness to slow down and eliminate work.

It took them 2 years to break my

Phycosis, it felt like my brain went through a vortex, i have been out of phycosis for 14 weeks, i am being stableised with medication (edited by moderator). I am still waiting for a diagnoses , all i know is its a phycotic illness.

This is my expirience, i have learnt my grandiose came from sever trauma in my apprenticeship.

Hi @jimmy133, thank you for sharing and welcome to the forum. It sounds like you've had a tremendously difficult time, and it's great your psychosis is now under control!

You may like to get further support from other peers though:
