Navigating grief and loss

Mum died 5 months ago and my nerves are trashed. Need help coping with all the changes.

Mum died 5 months ago and my nerves are trashed. Need help coping with all the changes.

Hi all newbie here. I haven’t felt like myself since my mum died. My anxiety is still at all time high, despite grief counselling and self care to try and calm things down. I also feel very paranoid about my own health and even minor ailments scare me at the moment. I have sought professional help but they don’t seem to understand the struggles I’m facing. I just find everything hard since she died. We were incredibly close and sometimes I just don’t know what to do without her. Anyone relate? Any advice? TIA.

Hi there and welcome. I think grief is the hardest thing and there was a world before our loss and then a world after which is so different. We have those days when it feels unbearable and then other days are softer and kinder to us-riding those waves. Understandable that we feel like you do at times so anxious and can we cope, can we get through and you do. Be so gentle and kind with yourself as you navigate those intense days, you are doing the very best that you can and that is good enough for now. Understandable that you should worry about your own health and you can do the best you can around self-care but so much else is always out of what we can control. You are doing the best you can and finding the beauty of every day even when the sadness makes that beauty or good thing sometimes hard to spot- glad you are here and sharing and reaching out- welcome and thank you! Every day you are loving and cherishing memories and building and growing around the grief-take care of you today.

Hi... my mom passed only 8 weeks ago and i feel all your feels. It feels wrong to act normal.

But i believe my mom wouldnt want to see me like this.

Every day feels hard.... i sleep alot because shes always in my dreams so thats my happy place

Its really hard... but i believe i need to keep on going and make her proud.

Its not easy... its extremly hard, however, i know she'd be so upset to see me like this.

Sometimes you've just got to keep on going... n when you feel like you cant.. allow yourself to cry and feel xx

I’m so sorry you also lost your mum. I know they’d want us to just go on, but it’s hard when the centre of your universe is suddenly gone. I only have one remaining family member left. Not immediate family either. It feels very weird to be the only one left. I’m also going through some minor health issues due to all the stress I’ve been through. I just want my mum. 💖
