Feedback on typography and heavy use of capital letters

Feedback on typography and heavy use of capital letters

Hi everyone,

Has anyone else fed back about the heavy use of capital letters across the platform?

While capitalising the "SANE" acronym makes complete sense, using Upper Case or heavy capitalization for everyday phrases (like "Good Morning") creates a lot of dense, heavy black text on the screen.

My day job revolves around making the web accessible, so I'm incredibly hypersensitive to typography and visual load. Honestly, the heavy capitalisation feels visually overwhelming and counter-intuitive to an accessible, calming design space.

I'd love to see a shift toward a softer, sentence-case approach. Curious if anyone else has noticed this or feels the same way?

Hi eldermillenial,

Thank you for raising this observation. I can see how heavy capitalisation could feel visually overwhelming.

I appreciate you being open about how you are experiencing the use of font on the forums platform. Your suggestion for a softer sentence-case approach which presents as gently accessible and calming is understandable.

SANE is committed to continuous improvement and welcomes member feedback. You may have done so already, I encourage you to make a submission via feedback form or email by following the link below.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to flag your observations.

Warmest regards

Re: Feedback on typography and heavy use of capital letters

Hi @AltZing-Connect

Thanks for getting back to me.

I'm more than happy for anyone at SANE to use my user story to spark a discussion with the Content or Design teams.

I value transparent communication over closed feedback loops to drive real change, and I look forward to continuing the conversation with the team here in the Co-design Group Hub.

Many thanks,

EM.
