Re: Constantly triggered by my children

Hi @WxzpYPK, that sounds like a very frustrating environment to live in and naturally concerning for a parent. You have already taken two wise steps - trying Orange Door and reaching out to this forum community.

I think the big question is what is underlying this behaviour - what are they thinking/feeling. It can be common in split families. If you are able to sit (or while doing an activity) chat to them, you could non-judgementally explore this with them.

You could also:

In the meantime, look after your own mental health.

Please let us know how you go.

Re: Constantly triggered by my children

Good morning @WxzpYPK

Sending you a warm welcome to the SANE forums.

Thank you for showing up and sharing so openly and honestly with us.

It sounds like your boys are really giving you a hard time at the moment. I have 3 sons,I know the fighting and squabbling well. It can be super challenging.

It's really good that you are reaching out for support and to share how you are feeling.

Have you tried calling Mensline before?

Their website has lots of resources as well.

MensLine Australia: Call 1300 78 99 78 for 24/7 professional telephone and online support specifically for men.

https://mensline.org.au/

Have you got any supports in place at all? Maybe it might be worth having a chat with the GP, getting a mental health care plan and referrals to community services.

SANE has a program called the Recovery Club. Perhaps you might like to sign up for that and take advantage of the one-on-one sessions to have a chat with a facilitator and maybe brainstorm some ideas. You can use the sessions to discuss whatever you need with someone who will hold space for you and listen. Here is the link to the information and registration page: Welcome to SANE’s Recovery Club

I'm sure others in the community will jump in to welcome you and offer support.

We are glad you're here with us.

Sending you all my best this morning.

Hopeful_hannah :)
