Navigating grief and loss

Lost my mum

Lost my mum

I lost my mum in January of 2022 when i was 17 due to heart disease.

The year it happened I went completely insane and got a lot of help for it.

I thought I had healed past the pain and could talk about it without hurting.

But for the past week it feels like all of that pain has returned, as if it's just happened all over again.

Now I'm not sure what to do, my life is slowly falling apart and all I want is my mummy.

I know she would be able to listen and advice me on what to do.

Does anyone have any advice on how to make this feeling go away?

I've started acting out of anger and pushing everyone away to bottle everything up.

Grief can include all the emotions and is often cyclical. It has helped me to manage to find ways to anticipate, the feelings can return, but often it can be for shorter and shorter periods. Its hard, the reality check, that they are not coming back, but somehow we can learn to build an inner relationship with our loved ones who have passed away. I talk in my mind with them, and also try and prepare myself to be careful around their anniversaries.

I lost a parent when I was young and had to research grief for a long time.

Look around online for things that resonate with you, because grief is also very unique, you are the only you, and your mum is unique. What might she say to your questions? You dont have to tell us, but find away to use her wisdom, in the best possible way for your own self. I also have a photo or mementos, so I can focus on the connection with them at times, and not always the sense of loss and pain.

Its not easy, but a key part of each of us....

Re: Lost my mum

This is the most beautiful and helpful piece of advice i've ever been told for this situation, possibly even in general.

I'm sorry about your personal experience and i hope you're doing well.

Thank you so much, you don't know the positive impact this has had on my week.
