Something’s not right

How do figure out things aren't real?

How do figure out things aren't real?

Knowing it sounds 'crazy', nevertheless there are certain beliefs that hang around. (For instance, it isn't actually alive, it's dead and rotting inside.) The logical mind sort of theoretically says that's kind of stupid and incorrect, but the belief says it's real. How does it talk itself out of these things?

@cracked-tricks I've been doubtful when going into or coming out of a relapse (thankfully now behind me). Let your logical mind observe, analyse and question. Years back I thought I might be being stalked by a little yellow car. When I observed more closely I could see the cars were different and I stopped worrying.

MIght be time to talk about titrating your meds. With some your team might let you take a little more PRN when you feel not quite right.

Hi@cracked-tricks,

It must be frightening to have beliefs like that. It is good that you are aware that something is not right. Are you on any medication?

Hi @cracked-tricks

It’s great that you have some insight from your logical mind. It can be really hard when your beliefs are strong. Do you have someone you can talk to about what you’re thinking? A psychologist may be able to provide you with more tips on understanding the difference between logical and illogical thoughts.

yes, an atypical antipsychotic, but only just reached the therapeutic window, so still waiting on it being useful.
