going to hospital next week

I find it is a very brave step to accept going into hospital and it took me a long time to accept that as well. You already say your husband supports you and you will be amazed how the family can get together and pull through the few weeks you are in hospital. If you had a broken leg, you wouldn't try to not disrupt the family?

As for work, you are on sick leave. You do not have to disclose what is wrong with you. I did not when I went to hospital first and that was okay. First you need to get better, then you can think about what else you choose to deal with. Disclosure is your choice. Your employer does not need to know. Again, if you had a broken leg and went to hospital, work would have to deal with it.

Have you been to hospital before? Is it a private or a public hospital? I was scared when I first arrived, because I was very distressed to start with and I found it difficult to fit into the routine in hospital. But I soon got used to it. Ask all the questions you want and voice all the concerns you have, the more you open up, the more the staff in hospital will be able to help.

It is not your choice or my choice, sometimes we just have to go.

Have your previous admissions given you some relief? Even temporary? If you struggle with yourself, a break will be better at times and you will be better looking after your family and work when you return from hospital.
