Forums Fixes Update and Planned Maintenance - Wed 15 July

Dear Forumites, we will be completing a new deployment of the forums on Wednesday 15 July between 9am-10am AEST. The forums may be unavailable for up to 30 minutes during this time.

The deployment will contain the following changes:

Email Notifications

  • Email notifications will be re-enabled.
  • Email notification preferences will be set to OFF as default for all members.
  • To turn email notifications ON, you will need to update your email notification preferences under 'Settings' in your profile.
  • Members will have the option to turn on email notifications for replies to their posts, where another member has supported their post and where they are tagged/mentioned in a post.

Tags/Mentions

  • Members have been reporting that when multiple people are mention/tagged in a post, that not all the tagged members are receiving the notifications. A fix will be deployed for this.

406 Error

  • A few members were still reporting seeing a 406 error when trying to post to or navigate the forums. We have deployed a fix for this issue, but of course, if you experience this issue again, please report it to us.

Approved Images Not Showing

  • Approved images were 'blocked' and not showing up in posts.
  • This issue has been resolved and all approved images will now be visible.
  • This includes images that were migrated from the old system, which some members were reporting as not displaying correctly.

Spotlight Navigation

  • The navigation on Spotlight has been fixed and will now be visible.

Images Awaiting Moderation and Rejected Images

  • Members will now see clear placeholder text once they post an image to indicate whether it is awaiting moderation or if it's been rejected.

Posting and replies

  • Members had reported that some discussions were still not appearing in chronological order. We believe that the ordering of all discussions has now been resolved, but of course, if you uncover any instances where this is not the case, please raise the issue with us.

Other updates

  • Subscriptions - While members are able to subscribe to discussions, email notifications based on these subscriptions is yet to be re-enabled. Notifications generated from subscriptions still appear under the 'bell' notification icon.
  • Favourites - We know there is currently an issue with members reporting they are unable to unfavourite old threads. We are currently working on a fix for this.

Hello @Vince1974 is there any update on the notifications not working when multiple people are tagged? Even when just 2 people are tagged I'm not getting notified.

yes the tagging or just "someone supported" is a bit confusing. I'm not sure if ppl can see if I support their posts or not, or tag them. Also the profiles linking or showing the persons threads?

Under ‘latest discussions’ it use to show… that when a person replies to a discussion it would say who replied and you could see a preview of their message. At the moment it just says the name of the original poster and what they originally said. It’s really confusing!
