Correction
Here is your bread; here is your circus
You’d almost think we do it on purpose
Never again put trust in your eyes
The only known truth is in our lies

An inquiring mind solicits death
As surely as lungs hunger for breath
Best to lay low, do as directed
Rather than stand just to be corrected

Faith may cause impossible hope
Delusions of being able to cope
With the vagaries of being alive
When, in fact, you barely survive

The daily news delivers grief
Nurturing your disbelief
Bombs falling as casualties rise
So-called peace the coveted prize

Already finished before it began
Such is the beauty of having no plan
Follow us down the blazing trail…
