Something’s not right

Who am I

Who am I

I don't really feel ok, I only just remembered here. I woke up at 3am this morning. I forgot everything, my name, m wife's name, kids name, everything about me. It's slowly coming back and so are the problems and the pain. I haven't remembered how to deal with it yet. I this normal. I remember being stress alot lately that's about it. Things are slowy coming back but I don't know if I am remembering everything. I didn't even know what day it was or that I have a birthday coming up until my phone reminded me. I know the basic functions but I feel like I am learning the rest of my life. It's overwhelming and I am a bit scared.

Hi @jrn

Thank you for sharing. That sounds difficult, it’s understandable to feel confused and overwhelmed.

You also mentioned it’s been a stressful time, I acknowledge stress can have a big impact. It’s great you are reaching out and sharing, you aren’t alone in this, there is care, support and people that can help.

When noticing changes like this, it can help to check in with a healthcare professional, such as a GP. They can help make sense of what’s happening, provide any relevant health related assessments or treatment, and provide extra support. It can also help to share how you’re feeling with someone you trust, like a partner, family member, or friend, whatever feels comfortable to you.

If you feel it would be helpful to speak with someone on the phone, there are also free services available:

Healthdirect Australia
Call 1800 022 222, 7 days, 24 hours-to speak with a registered nurse who can help talk through what you’re experiencing.

If you are feeling overwhelmed to connect with mental health support, contact:

Beyond Blue Support Service

Call 1300 224 636, 7 days, 24 hours.

Use Beyond Blue Webchat.

Lifeline Call 13 11 14,
Text 0477 13 11 14 or chat online.

No pressure - these options are here if you want some extra support. Please be gentle with yourself, take things at your own pace, and continue to connect and reach out.

Hi @jrn

This situation of forgetting things sounds very scary. I would encourage you to get checked out by your GP. There could be a medical explanation for your forgetfulness. Take care and be patient with yourself
