Re: Bah Humbug
Hi @Trissy71 , christmas can be a really difficult time for a lot of people. There is actually a whole thread here about that if you're interest to chat about it with others who also find it hard: Merry Grinch-mas .
Being alone does not mean you are not important or don't matter. There are many other people on the forum also who are lovely and amazing people, but spend christmas day alone.
I know it can feel you don't matter when feeling depressed and disconnected to people. I know it can be hard to imagine anything else could be true.
I really enourage you to get into converations with people on the forum (whether social or personal topics) as it could be an opportunity to make some connections with people who "get" what you are experiencing, will listen to you, and want to know who the real you is.

Re: Bah Humbug
Treat yourself thats what I did. Get a pressie for yourself. It was rough for me to and I'm still feeling it so I'm going to treat myself again Boxing Day.
Stay focused on your values. I'm studying at the moment and on my birthday I let it effect me to much and drifted away from my inner values. Not this time! Stay true to you. Remember who you are always.

Re: Bah Humbug
I love that advice @Surfs-Up-88 😊.
What is your treat for yourself today?
I have done my laundry (yay!) so that i can pack my bag later (visiting my father tomorrow). Which means now I get to relax for a few hours at least.
For me, today, I am choosing to do some more painting of 3d plaster figures. I bought some christmas themed ones very cheap in the week leading up to christmas. Once they are painted, i will paint a varnish on them also and then pack them away with my other christmas decoration figures in the study until next year. This year i didnt get out any decorations because my house is still too disorganised to have anywhere to display them safely 😅. ("Safely" because i have 2 very very tall dogs! Even my kitchen bench is not always safe lol)
Hope today is bearable for you @Trissy71 . Please do join in chats on the forum if you would like to. Its a good way to feel heard, or for a distraction. People here do genuinely care, even if you have experienced others in your life so far who have not cared.

Re: Bah Humbug
That's great! Great work! I love doing housework tasks. It means so much to me because it takes hours for my body to be able to move to do laundry! So when its done I know I put in massive effort.
I love ham and cheese pockets so got myself 3 of those and a maccas mocha.
A rare treat but was worth it on Christmas 🙂
