Oh, that sounds very emotionally challenging and distressing @redhxtsymmer . I think i would react quite similarly to you if i were in that situation too! *hugs*
It really makes me wonder what is going on for the therapist.. because it does sound like they care and *want* to support you (they don't *have* to offer to check in with you, so i interpret this as them *wanting* to). But the lack of follow-through is very disheartening and confusing!
Some ideas that come to mind as *possible reasons* (not excusing the behaviours though) are:
- a high number of patients (fully booked) with few cancellations (during which time they can do follow-through on these offers)
- a number of crisis-situation patients that they are supporting (i have seen my family member who is a health practitioner have a sudden "wave" where the same week 3 different patients will all have a crisis needing extra support)
- personal difficulties with time-management and planning (reminds me of some of my DHD friends who are well intentioned but never run on time or remember to do things they say they will)
We can speculate, but we can't know for sure what's going on.
How would you feel to express your concerns and how you feel (confused, hurt, unsupported?)?
If you want to let her know, but not sure how to work it, I would be happy to help you plan that, or others in the community prob have good ways too, and I know the Peer Support Workers here are *amazing* at helping with that too.

@redhxtsymmer i know this may sound harsh but count your blessings my friend. You are already getting a lot of good stuff. Yet please understand it is your life, not theirs. i know very hard to do when you are hurting life, but it is the sad truth down here. Most people have NO time for us when we are are in our most desperate times.
Our good life starving calling out within our chest is the One to listen to not those who cannot touch us in our fallen reality! i know this may sound harsh, but sadly it ain't any different Down Under (or anywhere else, apart of highest high so far away hurting down deep.)
Not to deny yourself support and help, for support is essential reaching the finale, but knowing that the final break with life hurting can only ever be your own decision to hold onto your own truth of being, and not any longer the lies hurting, or try and take on any one else's truth, not your own.
This song sums it up as it so very often is us looking to others to help us fix what is broken within. However let knowing this not discourage you break free from hurting life, but rather understand your true value lays finding The Truth of YOU within not without.

I would email your therapist with your concerns. It is really not ok to drop the ball the way they are, it's highly unprofessional, especially for a therapist.
Let her know what you've noticed, how it's affecting you and how you'd like to move forward with her. Would it be better for you to find someone else who is able to follow through and provide the support they say they will?
This could be an empowering time for you. What's happening isn't ok and she's being paid for a service which isn't being provided (with cancelling). You're a person going through a hard time and need to have a professional who you feel has your back and is able to follow through with their promises. Please see this as a reflection on her, not you. I'd hazard a guess that you're not the only person she's doing this to
