How long does the fight go

How long does the fight go

I never know how to make therse posts.
My fight with my mental health is everyday, all day. I know why I fight and I know that I should keep going.
How is a person with a disability supposed to tackle the mountains that are placed in our way.
I have gone from a simple case of being discriminated against by a major hospital and being denied crisis care, to the place I am at now where I wish I never went to that accursed place.

I made a simple mistake by escelating as, I thought I deserved better, which caused a string of unfortunate events that have now made me understand the connection between QLD Hospitals, The Minister of Health and the QLD Police service. Tread carefully.

I have since lost connection with QLD Health and now even a NSW Hospital has informed my family that they do not want me coming across the border for crisis care.

I have upgraded to gold level Hospital coverage to try and improve my chances, please don't ask how I am having to pay that much while not working, but have now been informed I can not even access that without the help of the very people who have teamed up to close off any options I have with them.

My family have been wearing the strain of this long enough. I have a son who has schitzophrenia who is now homless as he can not feel safe with police possible going to show up at all hours to deliver messgaes.

I hear how my MH is a curse on those around me, how hard they suffer with me not being the same person I was.

I have reached out for help where ever I can to lighten the load but all pathways lead strait back to those same closed off options. 😶

Hi @unimportant

Firstly, good on you for sharing your story - it must be tough to feel like you have fewer options than you need.

One suggestion would be looking at the website of your local Primary Health Network (PHN) and checking what community health options are around you? They often act independently to Hospitals etc and are able to meet you at your level. Would you be happy to have a look and then let us know if anything new or more appropriate pops up?

We'll be here if you want to discuss!

Thanks for that. @ElephantEar3
I did look up my local network, now that is a site.

I don't have a lot of capacity to manage sites like that at the moment but did find a program with multi choice answers, this does seem like an interesting concept. Unfortunately it leads to the same people at the end of the day which I guess is a good thing as it shows the system is working as intended.

At the end of the day, it is hard to get out from under the shadow of my state based health system and there is no feature in any provider's paperwork to remove consent from QLD Health going through all my private health data. This can be a difficult situation when they are actively building a defense against me being noisy, and not disappearing.

This would be an easy fix if I did not have a family with connections to where they have grown up, so instead we hold the ground.

It will be ok, I just have some hard times where I can't see the finish line any more.
