Stress, anxiety & uncertainty

Stress, anxiety & uncertainty

Hey everyone,

I'm new here. Just received news that has caused great stress and anxiety for myself, could affect greatly my life and whether I can still live where I live currently. I tried to share the news with my partner but afraid she's now stressed and anxious as much as I am but putting on a brave facade. I honestly just feel helpless and that feeling of being frozen because I don't want to cause any more problems. I've started skipping meals as stress increases and exhausted by my own thoughts.

Has anybody out there experienced experienced such acute anxiety and stress and how do I be more at peace with the situation at hand?

@GN88 hey there

sounds as though its already affecting your life if high levels of stress and anxiety are having impact on your eating habits.

Im medicated for it and it still runs away on me at times grounding myself in the present helps and box breathings a really good exersize.

having to move is reason to stress for anybody in this day n age i hope your close enough with partner to talk about your concerns for how shes feeling and ask her thoughts as she may also worry how your feeling

try have a good day & this is good place to feel heard

@REDLINEZ750 Thanks for that. I'll try hard to make myself eat today but the anxiety has continued throughout the day. Even the body aches from the constant tension. I wish I could handle it better like others do but I just let constantly cripple me.

Re: Stress, anxiety & uncertainty

@GN88 yeah handling it is about right, if you have trouble at night going to sleep i find on you tube detachment from overthinking by michael sealey works.

through the day im constantly having to use skills learned from DBT to keep anxiety manageable, if this is something new from the news you just recieved id say go on you tube enter mindfulness or grounding techniques and you will find one that works for you.

it can be as simple as looking out the window selecting a tree or flower anything and describing it to yourself , holding an ice pack to your face youd be surprised , personally mindfulness, tapping and breathwork i use daily for they work where other techniques dont just need find what works for you.

as an idea if your partner doesnt know about how badly its affecting you talking to her about might take some wieght off what your carrying, she may well be not knowing how to aproach it and if nothing else letting her know what shes feeling is being thought of takes the anxiety of that and stops it becoming worse, its a hard road thinking we know what anothers thinking and we arent right.
