Gayaa Dhuwi Proud Futures Conference

Gayaa Dhuwi Proud Futures Conference

The SANE team are today on Larrakia country in Darwin.

Gayaa Dhuwi conference offers benefits like expanding professional networks with key stakeholders in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander social and emotional wellbeing, influencing national policy, collaborating on impactful projects, driving systemic change, gaining professional development, and creating broader opportunities for collaboration to improve outcomes for Indigenous peoples in Australia. The conference brings together mental health professionals, policymakers, researchers, consumers, carers, and community leaders to share knowledge, engage in dialogue, and work towards achieving the Gayaa Dhuwi (Proud Spirit) Declaration's vision.

We heard from keynote speakers that the Closing the Gap reforms are a step in the right direction in order to improve health disparities and outcomes for mob.

The proud future that we are working towards is a a future where SEWB is recognised as central to our health. Check out this informative video on SEWB, shared by WellMob.
