New member feeling lost and numb

New member feeling lost and numb

Hi I’m 53 and have bipolar. I have been struggling the last 5 weeks. My GP has altered my meds but no change. I have been waiting 4 weeks for the psychiatrist for an appointment. I spoke to them this afternoon and have to wait another 5 weeks for my appointment.
My mood has been very low and I’m in fight or flight constantly. I have been feeling lonely and joined some dating sites. I am ok when I’m chatting and feeling wanted but 2 have been one night stands which I’ve never done before. Then they ghost me and I start to spiral down again wondering why I’m not good enough.
A few days ago I self harmed and I have not done that in 10 years. I feel so lost and sad I don’t know what to do next. I just sit here catastrophising

Hey @Ricksta46 ,

Sorry to hear about what is happening. It sounds so hard even though you are doing what you can to keep your head above water.

What are things you enjoy doing? Things that revitalise you and keep you going?

I hope you find the connection here helpful and you feel less alone.

Hello sorry to hear you are trying dating and going through the motions. Unfortunately ghosting is such a common behaviour these days. I wouldn’t take it personally. Something that has helped me are to do a thought challenging worksheet.
