Shoulder to Shoulder: Veteran Families

Resources for veterans and veteran families

Resources for veterans and veteran families

I thought it might be good to share resources related to the experiences of veterans and veteran families that people have found helpful.

There is a place called EC defence programs that I came across that has got a huge number of free resources to support veteran families. Some kids books, parenting programs, lots of things like that. It is a labour of love built on many years of academic research, run by Marg Rogers, who is a senior lecturer at The University of New England. I don't know if it is very well known, but there is a lot of valuable stuff there.

This is something to help support children whose parent's have a moral injury

Also, if any defence families have kids who are struggling (or you just want to give your kids the opportunity to connect with other children who have faced similar challenges to them) I highly recommend Kookaburra Kids https://kookaburrakids.org.au/

Anyone else got any other resources or services they have found helpful?
