Does anyone have any suggestions for places to find new friends? Both online and offline, I recently had my friends break off from me and I feel… extremely alone

welcome to the forums space @Pothuman 😊
i can definitely relate to the painful feeling of loneliness, i'm so sorry to hear you've had to experience it too. you're absolutely not alone here 💙
we've got social spaces in the forums for you to connect with other members: Social Space
there's also a Friday, Saturday and Sunday night chat on the forums (so stay tuned for those, it'll usually run at 7pm)
a friend of mine uses apps like 'Meetup' to get to know others - there's events on there that you can attend. i've even used facebook to scroll through and find events, but as always, be careful online!

Hi there. I’ve tried meetup & Facebook groups for my area. Depending on your age, your local council may have groups set up that are subsidised (eg. exercise/yoga).

Hey @Pothuman ,
Welcome to the forums. I'm sorry to hear that you feel so lonely right now. It sounds so hard to feel such isolation I guess.
Well done for reaching out.
I guess when you ask people about where they can meet people, you have the regular MeetUp websites, but I also guess meeting people can be interest/hobby related. e.g. at clubs, art/craft sessions, gyms, pools, libraries...
What are things you are interested in doing?

Not really sure? I have a fear of going outside and my ocd makes it hard to do really much of anything so a lot of what I did was just. Talk to my friends which I can’t do anymore
I like anything art or craft based though, either doing or just observing and or helping
i like creative works and stuff, making it too, I like anything with roleplaying or making stories with others
i like stuff to do with queer history or theory as well? I think I like philosophy in general tbh but when I usually talk about it it’s not really…. The typical topics
i really like fandom communities and fan culture, a lot of stuff i tend to be drawn to though is stuff that’s… not really popular in Australia though (not getting on a high horse or anything about it i actually hate that i can’t find anyone in person to talk to about it)
I used to do yoga some years ago which was really nice, I wanna get back into that I just need to find a place that will accommodate me
I like playing video games too, I think that’s all I can think of rn?
