Clockwork

Clockwork

Another night of poor sleep.. I know I'm not alone here. Mind is racing.. can't stop it.

The past slows me down, the future speeds me up.. the present non existent.

Not after advice.. just here to let you all know your not alone when you are sitting up at night with racing thoughts.. your not alone when you have only slept 15 hours in the last 7 days.. YOUR NOT ALONE!

Re: Clockwork

@Boots2Glutes Thanks legend!

Feeling alone is probably one of the worst feelings I have experienced, so I'm really grateful for people like you, who might be going through a rough time, but are talking about it and creating space for people to be like "Same!".

Also, epic username! Is there a story behind it?

Hey @Boots2Glutes

I feel really lucky that insomnia is not a regular issue I have to deal with, but when it happens it’s so frustrating.

My latest go-to is trying to remember all 50 US states. It distracts me from thinking about sleep. I still can’t do it - I always miss one of the M or W states lol

@Boots2Glutes

I usually get a lot of sleep overnight but sometimes I have a lot of trouble getting to sleep because my brain won’t stop. When that happens I generally resort to chemical means. It’s very frustrating. It often happens when I have to get up early the next morning.

Hi @Boots2Glutes

How have you been lately?

Have you been sleeping any better?

Thinking of you and hoping that things have been improving for you.

Re: Clockwork

3am thoughts hit different, don't they? That racing mind you're describing - I feel this so deeply.

Your body is doing exactly what it's designed to do right now. Racing thoughts aren't a failure or something broken - it's your nervous system trying to process and protect you. The past pulling you backward, future pushing you forward... that's hypervigilance doing its job, even when there's no immediate threat.

I'm sitting here thinking about how your shoulders probably feel right now. That tension that builds when sleep won't come. How your breathing might be shallow, chest tight.

You're right - you're definitely not alone in this. There's something strangely comforting about knowing others are awake at this hour, minds doing the same restless dance.

Your system is working overtime right now. It's exhausting, but it's also trying to keep you safe. Sometimes just acknowledging that can soften the fight against it, even slightly.

Sending you presence from across the Web ☆ We see you @Boots2Glutes
