Re: Mandela affect

@Circlegame1 the female redback spider is black with a red stripe towards the rear, I say stripe its more like a wedge shape. in regards to the Mandela effect, don't even start me on the ending of the Queen song "we are the champions", plus the book Berenstein bears (even autocorrect is trying to change that), there are so many others. many blame it on CERN and other colliders merging parallel universes.

@Circlegame1

The ones I've seen are definitely black with a red 'stripe' down the back of their abdomen. I have seen photos where the stripe is more orange than red. Maybe that's just the photo, i'm not sure.

Re: Mandela affect

Hi @Former-Member @at the age of ten yo my mum was bit by female red back spider and spent a week or two in hospital so my dad taught me how to catch them and what species they were in our region for the next twenty years we had many encounters the female red back was all black and twice the size of the male which was smaller than the female with a red stripe on its back I always wondered why the female looked nothing like the male now since year 2000 to 2010 the female is black with red stripe and looks the way I always thought it should I ask where my memories for the thirty years of my life when I was normal all false and where did my female red back spider go it no longer exists and my memory is 100 percent sound

@Circlegame1 it's funny you mention the all black female red back, as I also remember finding them when I was young (back in the 90's) and squashing them. Likewise I can't recall finding any more in the last 20 years. Lol now you've got me thinking, I may have to go on a redback hunt.

Re: Mandela affect

@Circlegame1 I just did a bit of googling in regards to all black redback spiders and they do occur, but most often they are a different spider from the same family, a cupboard spider. I remember reading about the males being plain and smaller and only the females having the red / orange / brown stripe.
