Feel Weird

Feel Weird

Don't know what to do
Don't know who I am
Tiny baby
Rolling pram
The sun is hot
The sky is vast
Many questions
Moving fast
Ripples stop
Waters still
Merging softly
Natures will

Re: Feel Weird

One of the exercises we were given in creative writing is to write from the perspective of the sky ie.

What the sky saw

It was suggested by an indigenous writer as reflecting their spirituality.

how sublime, to have teaching from someone with such insight and spirituality at a young age.

We studied only academic subjects and they were presented and taught academically no mention of creative writing.

I remember our english teacher came into the classroom one day and said "I want you all to look out of the window and write about what you see".

My reaction was, what a cold way to present something that could be so creative and wonderful.

My response, I saw concrete a concrete playground.

That is what I wrote about in great depth. The conception of concrete, the texture, the absence of harmony, the coldness, unwelcoming, limitations, on and on and on. I was proud of the depth that I found and was able to put on paper. I cant remember the marking because that was not important to me. It was her comments in red ink strewn across my writing that had a lasting impact. "No imagination".

My thoughts, she should have not been a teacher.
