Narcissistic

Narcissistic

I am a new member looking for guidance on my life living with a narcissist.

i want out which sounds easy to just walk.

i am 57 and i have been in this relationship for 20 years the first 10 were ok but then my partner was diagnosed with MS and for these 10 years i have been her sole caregiver.

as we live n Australia all our families are in the UK. So other than NDIS we have no support.

Her narcissism has become so bad now I can’t take anymore and I have to leave for my health.

i am at the moment moving my money to safe spaces because she controlled that too.

I also have an operation in two weeks so I am trying I hang on.

i have seen specialist for 7 years and have been on antidepressants for 8 years and now I have started to understand her condition as before I just thought it was mood swings from MS.

what friends I have left have been very helpful, but she has none because she never leaves the home as upsets any she had. It’s just me and I feel trapped.

i just need guidance and confidence to go.

Re: Narcissistic

Going gradually in stages sounds very wise. @Nail I needed to do that to leave my marriage over 20 years ago. He used illness in a manipulative manner. Sad to break up, but sometimes necessary. Take care of the carer as well.
