Managing relationships

Lost mumma

Lost mumma

My son’s father and I have not been in a relationship for close to 3 years. We have remained living together for our son. Recently he started dating someone, I was around the same time looking at moving out. We spoke and decided to try and learn to coparent together in the same house. After the discussion I was confused by my feelings I think I want my family back. When I asked him how he felt about it he said he was unsure. Since our deep talk we have grown closer but he has still not been willing to commit to trying to mend our relationship or continue his current one although we have shared a kiss and been romantic. FYI he and her are not official it’s just casual dating. Please help, I can’t stop my head

Re: Lost mumma

Hi @Wishfulmum and welcome to the forums

What a confusing and hard situation to be in. It sounds as though either way this is going to be a difficult situation to navigate, I wonder if you'd be open to couples counselling to help you through it? Have you been able to speak to any of your friends or family about this situation and get their perspectives?

It'd be great to hear some thoughts from others who may also be co-parenting, or have navigated a similar situation too, hopefully some of these members will see this post soon.

Thank you so much for your reply. I don’t have anyone I can openly speak too which makes it hard. My family can sometimes not understand and make it complicated. I just don’t know how to climb out this hole
