Sensory Disturbance/hallucinations and Bipolar

Sensory Disturbance/hallucinations and Bipolar

My adult daughter has been diagnosed with Bipolar 1, according to 2 different psych nurses, her hallucinations (for lack of a better word) doesn't fit with a Bipolar diagnosis, and has set her up with yet another psychiatrist for a proper evaluation (she had a proper evaluation when she was diagnosed) from everything I have read and all the people with Bipolar I have spoken to Hallucinations are definitely part of Bipolar.

Am I mistaken ?

I'm hesitatant to listen to them because 1. The haven't actually listen properly and taken things out of context even after I myself have backed my daughter up and 2. They both continue to argue with Me about meds [med info edited out by moderator]

Hi @Elepots , Welcome to the forums. I'm sorry to hear about the challenges you and your daughter are experiencing at the moment.

Unfortunately, we are not a clinical service which means we cannot publish information about medication and dosgaes (as per Community Guidelines).

We can how, offer you connection, validation and let you know we are hearing you and how stressful this must be for you.

Psychosis is part of the experience of Bipolar (Mania) in my understanding

Here's something I found quickly

What is bipolar psychosis?
Bipolar disorder is a mood disorder that features extreme shifts in mood, during which psychosis can occur. People with psychosis experience a disconnected view of reality. It can involve hallucinations and delusions.
