There is no support for mental health

There is no support for mental health

Why do people say support is available when it isn't really? I need physical support not online support. I need someone visiting me not talking to me on the phone. There's no support for someone like me who needs action not words.

I need a tribe. It doesn't exist.

Re: There is no support for mental health

Let's support your post and say we are here for you. Where? Where are you? Talking doesn't help me. You don't help. There is no help.

Re: There is no support for mental health

Hi @Lite

I certainly agree with you. Even though online support can help us at different times, that person to person support can have a huge effect on us.

I know that there are members on here that do get that support, I wish I was one of them too.

Whilst I can't give you the support you deserve, I know where you are coming from.

Hopefully there are other members that might be able to lead you in that direction.

Please just know that you are not alone.

Re: There is no support for mental health

Hello @Lite I can hear your frustration and it's incredibly hard to get the support you need. Talking can be helpful at times but yes having that in person support can be so beneficial. Have you thought about chatting to a GP about what options are available to you? Also are group things something you are interested in, maybe finding some connections with others could help.

Of course we are always here to help however we can, you are not alone.

I have felt similarly @Lite

It is shocking when people say there is support available as an excuse... Not to be decent to you, themselves.

I am passionate about advocacy for in person in real life support.

I wish Sane would take more lead in that direction.

In the meantime, I hope you get some relief by the online people posting here.

I try to "value add" and not be too trite with my wording....we are human... Not too many chatbots.... Yet.... I hope.... Lol

Re: There is no support for mental health

Hey @Lite . I totally stand with you, there 100% should be a mental health service where people come out to your home to check in & talk with you. Unfortunately the only “service” slightly close to this is a welfare check (to my knowledge) However these online services (such as forums, helplines etc) do help others significantly.

Re: There is no support for mental health

Yes @starsmile regarding the so called "welfare" check. Some people find them worse than unhelpful. In my mind it is an ineffective intervention and wasteful of the tax dollars. They would save a heap doing proper reaching out to people in their physical locations and at times in their homes. I try to be reasonable about the cost of services. Less medical (cost a fortune and not really the best tool for the job) and more prosocial services including Lived Experience in the community.

Re: There is no support for mental health

I have been in and out of mental health for the last 13 years and can answer this with the utmost candour.

People are in the business of making money off problems. Someone has a problem, they see dollar signs. We're reaching out to people who, truthfully, do not care about us. While there may or may not be people behind these posts - this is just text on a screen. This is just a sentence. How are we supposed to somehow get better with sentences? How are we expected to dump our problems on someone we've only just done a phone call to?

The unfortunate truth, is that psychiatry has convinced people that their emotions are diseases. Pressure a psychiatrist or nurse or whoever about these medications; they will backflip, divert from the topic or redirect it to make it look like it's *you*

You are the problem, according to these psychiatrists.
You are the problem, according to these nurses.
You are the problem, according to these doctors.

They have only just met you and have made you the problem.

Unfortunately, these psychiatrists are also resigning. They willfully plunged the state into this disarray. They took what they could, in the name of their pseudoscience and left for greener pastures.

We were never being helped.

We were just their lab rats.

Re: There is no support for mental health

Apologies for double posting.

I really do hope and pray with all my heart that everyone is compensated for their wrongdoings. I hope the families get some form of financial relief. It would definitely have to be class action. People have been made targets for their supposed "illnesses". People have had their families torn apart from certain diagnoses. People have had their lives destroyed, people have died because of these psychiatrists. People have been made homeless because of these psychiatrists. It's absolutely disgusting and a perverse evil.

Re: There is no support for mental health

hi@Lite

have you thought about contacting organisations such as avivo life ( in perth ) that offer personalised at home support for people living with mental health problems.

ruah is another organisation that was recommended to me here via the sane forums.

also if you google psychosicial support you might find services that might be helpful.
