Need help with processing my feelings

Need help with processing my feelings

I've recently been going through a breakup with my ex of two years, who decided to end things with me last month. The reason? He wanted time and space to get himself together, as he's going through his parents divorce and searching for a house to rent with his friends.

It's understandable he's going through a rough time in his life, but to give up our 2 year relationship to work on himself, when we could work on things together? I don't know, maybe I'm overthinking it.

He confirmed he still loves me last week and I'm his best friend, that he doesn't want to lose me but I'm not too sure if he still feels that way.

We've been no contact for the past week now until he accidentally called me yesterday, then ended it with a "we'll have a proper talk soon". I have no clue what he wants to discuss together when we just discussed how he felt and why he ended things last Sunday... It's making me extremely nervous and anxious, I wish he was more straight forward.

If anyone has any advice, or has experienced anything similar, please feel free to share your thoughts!

Re: Need help with processing my feelings

First off, I am sending you best wishes. It's so hard being in a space of uncertainty in relationships. In times when I have faced similar, I have tried to keep focus on my own reactions. Be kind to yourself and try to connect with your supports like you are here. It may be that your partner really does just need some space and will be more communicative when they have worked some things out. Take care.
