This is only a bit of my story

  • Im looking for someone i can get everything thats somehow shutting me off inside but making my head run miles. I have no support, my family dont understand or there ashamed they dont communicate and ive lived with them almost my whole life, i turn 28 tomorrow. So i have grown alot and Im proud of the person I am. I had to always takr care of myself. And I now have a 4 year old son, Something tragic happened in 2023 on the 29th of November. I had luca in my car driving home and I accidently fell asleep and although I was only going between 60-70, the way the wheel hit this one little embankment. Sent our car up flip up and like nose dived down and landed ripped the car to pieces. Little luca was 2 at the time, we were 1 minute from home if that. He had taken his arms out of the straps as that was just what he did but I never allowed it, I always made sure he was safe. I made 1 mistake thats changed our lives forver. We spent 3 months in the childrens hospital. Its still something im trying to process but I need support networks I am struggling 😞

Hello @Doinitforus21 and welcome to the forums. I'm sorry to hear about the tragic accident that happened, I can't imagine how hard it's been for you to have to go through that with your son. Please know that you are not alone here, we are always here to listen and support you however we can.

I hear that you are struggling with no support and finding it hard to process what happened. Have you thought about seeing a GP and getting a referral to a psychologist/counsellor? You deserve to get the support you need.

I'm always happy to chat if you ever need/want to. Please take care of yourself, I know it's hard to accept what happened but you and your son still have each other and that's the most important thing right now.

Also happy birthday for tomorrow 😊

Ach! Sleep deprived mothers. @Doinitforus21 The awesomeness of maternal responsibility is huge. I am sorry your family are not standing by you.

I was lucky my sleep while driving story was a simple roll. I released my foot from the brake on a hill. It cost, but the little ones were not hurt. However I still have to face my general vulnerability from various trauma impacted my children. We do have to learn to forgive ourselves and acknowledge we are doing the best we can. Mature Kindness to yourself will also help your son, as you deal with the consequences. Do you have any support from the discharge from hospital.
