Need help - completely disregulated

Need help - completely disregulated

I suffer with really bad CPTSD, RAD and severe anxiety. I have a lovely boyfriend who is generally very sweet and understanding, but suffers with depression and has autism. I can’t go more than 4 hours presently without having a huge panic attack. One of the big triggers for us fighting, which usually happens right before or during one of my panic attacks is this awful person he insists on spending time with because ‘they have no one else’ but I have no one else, and I haven’t done the awful things this man he insists on hanging out with because no one else can stand him does.

Content/trigger warning
For clarity, the person who is a trigger for our fights has recently gotten out of prison for killing someone and now it has come out that he’s also raped several women prior to going to jail. (He was only in for 5 years because he got some sort of plea deal because he and the guy he killed were both on meth)

I just feel really frustrated and uncomfortable. It doesn’t seem fair that this guy gets away with everything and I just have to suck it up because I’m not as much of a literal scumbag with no prospects. I struggle to contain my panic attacks and emotions as they go from 0 to 100 in an instant. I dont know what to do, leaving my boyfriend isn’t an option I’m willing to consider, I just need advice on coping and navigating this.

Hi @diekleinepilz and welcome to the forums

This is a really difficult position to be in and I think it's really understandable that you'd be having a hard time having this person be apart of your boyfriend's life. Whie I can also maybe understand that your boyfriend is motivated by kindness here, it does also sound like he's not hearing your valid concerns, especially when it's causing you to have panic attacks.

Are you ever put in situations where you have to interact with this person?
